The college has commenced its Training and Skill Development office that has started training and skill development efforts to coach the pre-final and final year students. The team has set as its ambition to achieve 100% placements across all courses offered by the college.

SMTEC's Foundation skill program exposes first-year engineering students to a diverse array of courses aimed at preparing them for advanced training. At the onset of their graduate studies, each student undertakes a month-long series of foundation courses designed to offer hands-on experience and practice across multiple disciplines. Through these foundational courses, students acquire a comprehensive understanding of various fundamental engineering areas by the program's conclusion.
