Overview

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the academic year 2009. The Department has excellent computational facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories. Digital storage oscilloscopes, synchronous machines, D.C. machines, transformers, relays, high voltage, control modules, power electronics modules, and high voltage are a few of the specialized equipment. The department hosts technical symposiums, guest lectures, skill training, training sessions, and seminars on cutting-edge technology to tackle engineering challenges in the core and related domains.

Why EEE from SMTEC?

One of the foundational areas of engineering studies that is still relevant today is Electrical and Electronics engineering. The study of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetic applications is the focus area of electrical engineering.

To meet the constantly demanding needs of technical excellence in all areas, including Power Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Robotics, and Drones; emerging areas of Electrical Engineering include Renewable Power Generation, Smart Grids, Electric and Hybrid Vehicles. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2009 with an intake of 60 seats per year. The task of producing electrical engineers capable of taking on new difficulties has been taken on by the department.

  • For the benefit of students and the faculty community, the department often hosts seminars, guest lectures, skill training, workshops, and technical symposiums on cutting-edge technology.
  • Electrical Machines Lab, Electrical Power Systems Simulations Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation Lab, Control Systems Lab, Electronics Lab, and Engineering Practices Lab are among the well-equipped labs in the department.
  • Students of this Department have developed more innovative product prototypes through applied Labs. These include Automatic Table Tennis Robot, Smart Blind stick, Fire fighting Robot, Lifetime estimation of watch battery etc.,
